To all TAME VIRTUAL pilots:
 
We first want to thank all the TAME Virtual pilots that flew massively yesterday, Saturday 13th, in our event.  Becoming the airline with more presence in the event and showed that we are the leader in Ecuador with 21 pilots and more than 50 flights contributing to a total of 155 operations in the event.
 
Second, we bring you as a Christmas and new years gift, all the Ecuadorian charts up to date, dated November 22nd.  The main changes in this charts are the courses of the procedures due to the magnetic variation of the earth.
 
As some of you know, in the real life the magnetic course changes, but in the simulator it does not change.  Thanks to Cristian Caicedo, controller of the FIR, for creating a file that updates the magnetic variation of all South America.  In this way we will also be updated in this variation as well as in the navigation charts.   To download the charts please use the upper menu in the download section of the FIR`s web page and the update of the magnetic variation should be downloaded following the next link or the download section as well:

TAME Virtual, always thinking in the pilots, is launching a “new years deal” as a gift for you.  This deal consists of the exoneration of the pending tests in exchange of just taking only one.  But as you know all the deals have tiny letters somewhere!!! In order to be exonerated of the pending tests you should take the last practical exam that corresponds to your current rank.  If you do this you will be able to get promoted to the next rank with a status of “active” in the airline.
 
To be eligible for this promotion, write a mail to:  director@guayaquil-fir.org, with your TAE number and current rank.  Within a few hours you will receive an email with the list of topics of the practical exam. Restrictions applied!
 
Promotion restrictions:
 
Valid for pilots with two or more pending exams.
The exam will be evaluated in a more rigorous way compared to taking one exam at a time.
Once the exam is approved you will be assigned the rank that corresponds and your status will be changed to active.  
Promotion valid since 05/12/2008 until 19/12/2008
You can not use this promotion with any other promotion
No returns accepted
Some crashes, nerves and stress may happen after the exam!. 

Today We have the proud and honor to incorporate to our fleet of operations the brand new Airbus 319.  TAME in the  process of its fleet renovation has incorporated this airplane with the capacity of 145 people in the executive and tourist configuration. TAME has with this plane a total of 13 to the service of the Ecuadorian people.   
 
The Airbus 319 is part of the family of the Airbus 320 and its first flight in the airline was taken in 1996.  The main advantage of this plane is its extended range of up to 3700 miles, making it the plane with the most large range in TAME.  This feature is accomplished because it can carry more fuel with the same amount of payload than an airbus 320.
 
The features of our plane for TAME Virtual in its version 1.0 are:

As we promised, when we launch the version 1.0 of the Airbus 319, we launch the version 4.0 of the Airbus 320.  In this version the improvements where focused mainly in the panel witch is remodeled and includes new features.  Uninstall any previous version.

Both downloads are available at the private zone.  The A319 can already be flown in our national routes and charters.  We will make the modifications in the next few hours in our web page to adapt this plane to our operations.

Thinking that the quality of our airline depends mainly in the quality of our pilots and with the purpose of easing that continuous training process, we have included in the download section some additional manuals that are very useful to advance in the improvement of our flight techniques.
 
This manuals make reference to topics that should be handled with no problems by our pilots.  The topics in the manuals include:
 
Altimetry
SID and STAR procedures
Arco DME turning procedures
Interpretation of a METAR
Interpretation of an IFR chart
A Jeppsen manual ( in English, very complete manual to interpret the charts with its symbols and everything necessary for a correct usage)
